Connecting lawyers to a new way of working
Transforming family law case management
Nomos is a software that simplifies the practice of family law, enabling lawyers to manage their cases more efficiently through modern solutions. With Nomos, it is possible to create case templates, track progress, manage billing, and communicate with clients all in one place. This tool changed the way legal professionals handle their routines and became an essential resource for law firms specialized in family law.
Designing solutions at a fast pace
When I joined the project, it had already been running for a few weeks. Since it was an MVP in a startup environment, the pace was accelerated, leaving no room to apply all the stages of Design Thinking. In this context, the designs were constantly iterated in collaboration with the founders, who were always in touch with potential users. This process ensured that product decisions were aligned with the real needs of the audience.
Creating simple and intuitive experiences
As a junior product designer on the Nomos team, I was responsible for the interface and user experience of the software. My goal was clear: to develop a simple and intuitive design that made the platform easy to use and gave lawyers agility in managing their cases. I worked closely with the founders to ensure the product met user expectations and also led the prototyping process in Figma.
Nomos is an example of how fast and efficient design can generate concrete results. In just two months of partnership between Uitify and Nomos, we managed to develop several management tools for lawyers. The minimalist approach prioritized simplicity and usability, speeding up user adoption and highlighting critical information in a context where deadlines and details make all the difference.
Delivering tools that simplify daily tasks
Nomos allows lawyers to track the progress of their cases and mark steps as completed, helping maintain organization and momentum. It also enables them to manage invoices and send them directly to clients, streamlining financial management and ensuring timely payments. Another key feature is the ability to create case templates with all the necessary steps for different types of processes, accelerating workflows and preventing important details from being overlooked.
Highlighting the smart workflow
The most impactful feature is the ability to generate workflow templates, allowing lawyers to easily select the required steps for each case. The flow itself is clear, intuitive, and easy to navigate, making it much simpler and more efficient to monitor legal progress.
Rethinking my role in the project
If I had the chance to revisit this project, I would have been involved from the very beginning. With more time, I believe applying all stages of Design Thinking would have deepened the understanding of user needs and resulted in even more aligned solutions. Since it was an MVP and speed was a priority, this constraint ultimately limited the ability to fully execute the design process.
